Hello. I am a young professional seeking work with both experience and knowledge in marketing, advertising, journalism and sales.
I grew up in a suburb of St. Louis, MO, so you could say I'm a pretty big fan of Cardinals baseball. I credit my love for sports as the catalyst for my passion for writing. Every day when I was young, I'd read the sports section of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch before school. As I grew older, I began to realize that I had some natural ability to write.
To feed my passion for writing, I currently write online content for SB Nation's Arrowhead Pride. Arrowhead Pride is another Chiefs blog, and it has an incredible amount of dedicated readers who choose the site as its go-to for all the latest Chiefs news and analysis.
While in school, though, I've come to learn that I have a natural ability to communicate and understand people. At the moment, I'm completing my senior year at Rockhurst and will graduate in May 2018 with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Communication with an emphasis in marketing, sales and communication. I've taken courses in marketing, personal selling and sales management and consumer research--to name a few--from professors in the prestigious Helzberg School of Management at Rockhurst University.
Currently, I am working as a Marketing and Communication Intern for the Rockhurst University Athletic Department. While working for the athletic department, I've created press releases, planned and executed promotional events, called on businesses to generate sponsorships and published online content.
In my senior year at Rockhurst, I've taken over as Editor-in-Chief of the Rockhurst Sentinel, the student-run news site of Rockhurst University. I've overseen the editorial direction of the site, managed social media and so on. Readership has increased by nearly 30 percent and social media engagement has increased two-fold during my tenure in charge.
I have quite a few skills that I can offer you. I hope you'll check out the work I've completed during my experiences and what I've done during my time at Rockhurst. Alright, that's enough about me. I'd love to get to know you, too. Let's work together.
